A story about Barry
from Doc...
I have known Barry for about twenty years. First as his counselor,
then as his friend. About 15 years ag o or so we started inviting Barry to our house to spend Thanksgiving with us, which he graciously accepted. We would get together
about 1 or 2 p.m. and then have dinner about 4 p.m. Barry always came loaded down with gifts for my children and a bottle
of "Fat Chucks" wine (which is pretty darn good if I say so mysef) I will miss Fat Chucks wine, since I don't know where he got it, but most of all I will miss Barry and the
wonderful times we had together. Eating, talking about life, politics, our service in Vietnam, what was going on in our lives,
our dreams and our families. Then after dinner we would always watch the Chevy Chase movie "Christmas Vacation". Then we would
have a huge hunk of Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream and we would talk some more before he left for his house. Notice I said
house because when he was at our pace he was always at "Home". We will miss him until we see him again and are joined together
again in God's kingdom.

I’ve know Barry since I was 13 and went to school  with Bart. Barry rode motorcycle with my Pop. I understand you are looking for some pictures. These are from our wedding so
they are almost 15 years old. I hope they are ok , we had to have them scanned from hard copy. If there is anything else I
can do, just let me know. 
Barry was also helping me with getting a donation from my club to the Lebanon VA hospital. I’s the President
of the Widows Sons Masonic Riding Association, Marked & Hewn Chapter. We raised a few hundred dollars that we were going
to donate with Barry’s help. Now we would like to donate in his honor. Can you help get me in contact or point me to
someone who can?

Stryker Brigade Comes Home
I got to see the
tribute you've put together for Barry. You've done a great job! I found a couple pics I wanted to send. They are from the
day we escorted the Hanover Natl Guard unit home from Iraq. Barry is on the left and I am on the right. That is Lt Hincle
we are talking with. He's the commander of that unit.
I know I have more and will send them as I find them.

first people I met was Barry...he lived on the other side of the creek which he says is a river...I'm from 
Philly...it's a creek at best I said...since that moment in the midst of his and mine laughter our hearts seemed to be as
one and has stayed as such ever since...Barry was with Dusters Quads 
and Searchlights in Nam 67-68...I was 1st Cav grunt in dark jungles in the day and completely pitch black at night...I did
two tours in that hell hole and many many times we called on the 
Searchlights to turn night into day as the gooks were all around but could not be seen...Barry and the men of the Searchlight
units saved hundred and hundreds of grunts lives and futures but ask Barry what he did in Nam..." hell I just sat on a mountain
top and shined some light down below"...this is my Friend and my Brother...
I have five kids and Barry treated them as his own and loved them dearly...he watched all of them grow up and do their different
things...college and service...he took my kids on boat rides...Easter E
egg Hunts...throw horseshoes with my oldest two and loved the hell out of my youngest Elizabeth and Tiffany was his "Hippie
gal"...he was and is family to my kids and my wife and me and will always be because of his heart...In 25 years up
here there are only two people I really knew I could completely respect and trust to do what is right and in their hearts
for all around them...now I have one and the world is a much much sadder and lonely place 
today...Barry helped me to fight the ghosts and demons of Nam by bringing me together with so many heart felt brothers
and sisters...we went to the Wall alot and when i could not make it Barry would always take a letter to my fallen comrades
along with the Cav patch for me...This is my Friend...my Brother... 
Barry gave his heart to doing what is right...he was kicked to the ground many times but always got back up and continued
on his path of doing good by all he me
t and bringing laughter and joy to children..Throughout the years he
involved me in many good causes and organization...Make A Wish Foundation...Point Man 
Ministries...the VFW and the America Legion...the Hart foundation...Toys for Tots...ABATE...Operation God Bless America...I
know there are many out 
there that have known Barry longer then I and know what his heart was all about...always remember that above all else...He
has brought me to alot of good people...Doc...Posey...Donnie and Barry's son Bart just to name a few and for that I am eternally
grateful and that was Barry t
o me...He was so much to so many... 
time...Barry asked me if I could get a firing squad for his funeral since I was doing what he did but with the VFW and I
did of course...this is how our lives and hearts touched and meant so much...Barry spoke his heart as did I...he spoke 
the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not and did what was Right with people outside of the VFW and I did the same inside
the VFW...both of us found out that people don't really want to know or hear the truth but we told it anyway over and over...He
took me with him to the first Lebanon VA run in 92 and my VFW Color Guard attended them all ever since as 
some of you know...
oing what is right and doing good for so very many people that truly need it...he never sought the finer things in life...never
got caught up in the pursuit of money or power...h
e'd give you his last dollar in a heart beat...Barry was on a higher level or plain...one that not to many ever make it to
for it is not an easy path to travel as some of us know but travel it he did and the people around him are better off becaus
e he did...this is my Friend...my Brother...
